A Trip to the Northwoods and More March Fun!

Eating a birthday cupcake. We bought a package to give some to Eric's dad for his birthday (Levi's baptismal day) but forgot to give them to him. Alena ended up eating one a few days before her actual birthday. Loved it, of course!

.
When Alena's diaper is full, it is really full. On one particular day, she got to run around with her saggy diaper, and loved it! She would bend over, giggling, and wiggle her butt so the diaper would slosh forward and backward! She got it to move so much, that her crack started to show. She again ran all around the house in her silly little way!

. A cute little guy!

.
He, like Alena, had hair on his ears when he was born. I didn't get a shot of it right away, but 2 months later, I did! Yes, it's still there as I'm writing this... and he's almost 3 months old! We joke that he'll not only be shaving his chin some day, but also shaving his ears!!

.
The kids and I went up to Tomahawk during one week, just to get out and visit the family. We ended up leaving a day earlier than expected because of an impending snowstorm, and, boy, am I thankful we did! Within hours of our arrival, it started snowing super heavy! Then next morning, my mom got stuck with her car at the end of her driveway, and there wasn't even a huge snowplowed snowbank there yet! We figure they got around 17 inches of snow!! Alena got to go out with Grandpa & Grandma Hawkins to help clean up (and have some fun, too).

.
Grandma threw her in the snow... and she loved it, of course!

.
An adorable little shoveler!

.
The next day, Alena got to make cookies with Grandma. As you can see, a decent amount of the dough ended up in and around her mouth! She always likes helping, especially when food is involved!

.
My mom's puppy, Bailey, really took to Levi. My mom found her laying next to him with her paw on him as if to say, "I'll protect you!" She was so sweet to him!

.On the way home, we stopped by Davey and Avery's apartment and met their new cat, Ollie. It was nice that the cat wasn't deathly scared of Alena like their seasoned cat, Bruce, is. Bruce hid under the bed for the duration of the visit. Alena sufficiently tortured Ollie, picking him up by his head/neck several times, and attempting to pull him closer to him my yanking on his paw. Ollie didn't seem to care, though, thankfully! Avery got a few cute shots, too (like this one).

.After a bout of crying, Levi decided to give a heartbreaker smile to Auntie Avery. Thanks, Veav for capturing it!

. A happy little boy with his daddy.

Levi Talks To His Mama

What a sweet little boy, huh? He lights right up when he sees someone he knows and tries to have a conversation with him! Such a cutie!

Baby Peek-A-Boo

It's nice to see that Alena loves her brother so much that she wants to play games with him! She will often ask him to try some food that she made in her play kitchen (usually eggs), and "read" him books :)

Alena's Second Birthday!

One tradition in my family is to take a video of the birthday kid when they get up on their birthday. Here you go, Mom!

.

Alena's birthday was on a Friday, but her birthday party wasn't until Saturday. Uncle Davy and Auntie Avery said that she could open their gift a day early that they had sent in the mail. She loves her Elmo book and "sassy" shirt as Avery put it! The drawings were so cool on the envelope that Alena just wanted the envelope!

.

Levi got to hang out with his Grandma Hawkins during Alena's birthday party!

. Alena and Aubrey both loved seeing what gifts Alena got. Aubrey even got a few gifts, too!! .
Cute cake made especially for Alena by Auntie Angie!

.
Alena is pretending to sleep in her new sleeping bag from Grandpa & Grandma Hawkins while cuddling with her new Elmo from Jay and Robin Gordon.

Brotherly & Sisterly Love

Levi is just 2 days old in this one. This is the second time that they've been together. That's the day that Alena came back home from staying at Grandpa & Grandma's house while Daddy & Mommy were in the hospital. She has been affectionate with him from the beginning.

.

Aren't they so cute? We just have to watch that Alena doesn't smother her brother with a bit too much love!! He doesn't know how to defend himself... yet (that, and she doesn't know any better)! We feel very blessed to have been given these two children, difficult as they may be on some days!

Alena & the Excavator!

Levi's Baptism

Our little Levi was baptized on February 27 at my home church, St. Paul's, in Tomahawk. We thought it was pretty cool that he was being baptized on his Grandpa Cerkas' birthday since Alena was baptized on her Grandma Hawkins' birthday two years ago! Pastor Schoenherr spoke from the heart on saying "yes" to the Lord and teaching Levi to do the same. It was super cool to see most of the DeNamur family, Uncle Jake, Auntie Ashley, grandparents, and family friends in attendance for Levi's special day!
.

Baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Levi's sponsors are Jeremy & Cristina Hermann.

. Here we are with Eric's parents. Alena behaved so much better when with Grandma! .Godparents, parents, and Pastor Schoenherr. He did such a wonderful job and made Levi's baptism so meaningful for us all! .My dad admiring his grandson. So sweet! . Levi's future babysitter (when we're in Rhinelander), cousin Brianna. We love you, Breezy!
